Biographical Note


Dulce Isalguez Parker is a Parent/Youth Educator and the founder of Making~Connections, Inc. The organization is dedicated to educating parents and youth on the importance of valuing education and their cultural heritage. She has over 20 years of work experience in the community; focussing in addressing family, health, education, and cultural issues.

Ms. Parker is bilingual in English and Spanish.

As a consultant, she has developed parent involvement and cultural education programs, (Bringing Parents & Schools Together and La Cultura Cura). She provides parent education, staff development, community education, and cultural awareness/appreciation training. Ms. Parker conducts her parental involvement/education programs at several Dallas public schools.

A native of the Caribbean Islands, she was born in Sto. Domingo, Dominican Republic and attended school in New York City. She entered the U.S. Air Force upon graduating from high school. Her 6-year military tour throughout the United States and Europe gave her valuable experience in working with people of different cultural backgrounds.

Her passion, commitment, and strong interpersonal skills enable her to work in harmony with diverse cultural groups. She creates partnerships and positive learning environments for parents, schools and the community.


Ms. Parker is a cofounder and past president of "La Sociedad Cultural Dominicana, DFW" and also supports various educational and cultural organization in the community.
